I have been successfully Ph.D. awarded on the 20th of April, 2023 as an International Ph.D. Scholar from the Department of Business Management (DoBM) at Tripura University (A Central University), India. My dissertation topic is “Behavioural Intention of the Students Towards Online Learning, Ensuring Learning Continuity in the Higher Education Sector of Bangladesh”.

In my Ph.D research, I have identified that students select online courses for convenience, flexibility, and easy access. Switching to emergency remote teaching (ERT) during the pandemic from physical classes was difficult for the students and teachers. However, the students exhibited the utmost grit and determination to overcome the challenges and displayed that online learning was a valuable method for ensuring learning continuity and that subsequent successful implementation was the way forward. Keeping students engaged in online learning is crucial to providing platforms that fulfil their requirements. Therefore, I examined the behavioural intention of students to adopt online learning to enhance class performance.

In fact, during my doctoral research, the COVID-19 Pandemic had just started. Amongst all the uncertainty about the future of higher education, I wrote several research articles that discussed ensuring learning continuity to adopt online learning in the higher education sector. For example, inducting the design thinking approach to the learning environment made teachers more empathetic towards students, thus ushering in more mature learners who are focused and engaged with choice-based learning, ensuring higher learning gain for higher education students. Furthermore, I measured the students’ behavioural intention towards online learning to ensure learning continuity in higher education. I have published more than thirteen (13) articles (Book chapters and referred international journals) in Scopus, ABDC and WoS indexed.  Research on learning continuity can help educators design curricula and programs that support learners as they transition between different educational contexts or face interruptions in their studies. Research on university students can provide insights into the factors that influence student success and help educators develop more effective support services and programs. Finally, research on design thinking can help educators develop innovative and effective solutions to complex educational challenges.

I have attended several training programs during my PhD journey, such as Faculty Development Program (FDP), National Education Policy (NEP), and Innovative Approaches in Engineering, Technology & Management Teaching. Also, I have attended several international conferences in physical and hybrid modes.

I have experience in teaching since 2014, worked as an Assistant Professor (Adjunct Faculty) at the European University of Bangladesh (EUB) in the Business Administration Department for the MBA program. During the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, students were suffering from anxiety, financial crisis, and a digital divide which I have tackled optimistically to conduct online classes at Tripura University, Department of Business Management with empathy using a design thinking approach and making students more comfortable and efficient. Worked as Head & Assistant Professor of the Business Administration Department at the University of Skill Enrichment and Technology (USET).

I can work with critical problem-solving in design thinking and transformative learning processes. Design thinking refers to ‘design-based learning’ in education. The value of design thinking in pedagogy is its character, which enables students to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Design thinking skills can be developed through various activities, particularly group work and projects. Classroom design would enable students to realise their innovative and creative potential. It would help students develop beliefs, behaviours, sensory competencies, and critical thinking.
